The Naturalist

Cassidy and Aunt Sarah went out in the woods and collected a few monarch caterpillars. We then made a little home for them and watched them form their chrysalis. Cassidy had to continue to check on them daily. Below are two of her critters, the one is ready to hatch.
Just the other day we went up stairs and we had a butterfly.
Cassidy really enjoyed the process and continued to keep an eye on them
Finally the day came when it was time to let them go so they could, "Fly Home"

This is Cassidy releasing her critter

Cassidy:
Papa and I are so proud of the wonderful way that you took care of the caterpillars so that they would be ready to fly to warmer climates before winter came. You are a very special little girl.
We love you

Cassidy, I had such a great time finding caterpillars with you. You took such good care of them and gave them a great home. You always found them milkweed and kept them safe so they could change into beautiful Monarch butterflies. I am proud of you for letting them free so they can have sex and make more Monarch butterflies.
